Primary Data, a Salt Lake City, UT-based provider of software-defined data center technologies, raised an additional $10m in Series B funding.
Mercato Partners, a private equity firm focused on high growth companies, joined other investors such as Accel Partners, Battery Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Pelion Venture Partners, which had invested $50m in November 2013 (read here).
Founded by by former Fusion-io founders David Flynn and Rick White, Primary Data is developing software to enable enterprises to manage unstructured data with improved performance and scalability.
The company is scheduled to launch in late 2014.
