Mashable, the New York, NY-based media company, raised an additional $700k in funding.
Tribune Digital Ventures (TDV) made this additional investment, which brought the total amount of the Series A round to $14m. They announced they raised $13.3m in January 2014 (read here).
Founded in 2005 by Pete Cashmore, Chief Executive Officer, Mashable is a source for news, information and resources for the “Connected Generation”.
The company, which also has an office in San Francisco, has a current headcount of 120+ people.
In 2014, they have grown its editorial team with the addition of Andrew Freedman, as Climate Reporter, Brian Ries, Real-Time News Editor and Jessica Plautz, Travel Editor and announced expansion to Los Angeles and London.
