SteelBrick, a Palo Alto, CA-based provider of apps for Salesforce.com customers, raised $5m in funding.
Backers included Godard Abel, the company’s new CEO and former co-founder/CEO of BigMachines, and Matt Gorniak, former global SVP sales/alliances from BigMachines, who will also serve as a senior advisor to SteelBrick.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development, grow its sales organization, and expand its leadership team.
Founded by Max Rudman, the chief technology officer, SteelBrick CPQ, formerly known as QuoteQuickly, provides sales organizations with a platform to produce accurate and professional sales quotes for prospects quickly.
The solution, which is built and delivered on the Salesforce platform, offers customizable templates and tools for one-click generation and attachment of proposal and quote documents.
It is used by HootSuite, Cloudera, Jive, Nimble Storage, Tripwire, and Nutanix.
The company, which recently opened an office in Chicago, also hired Will Wiegler, as chief marketing officer.
