Drync Secures $2.1M in Funding

drynclogoDrync, a Boston, MA-based provider of a wine app, secured $2.1m in funding.

Backers included Cross Link Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital, KEC Ventures and Foundry Group, which led the largest syndicate on AngelList to date, raising over $434k, Darmesh Shah, Hubspot founder, and Wakit Lau, ScanScout founder.

The company, whih had raised a $900k initial investment in August 2013, intends to use the funds to expand its offering to include personalized wine discovery and social engagement.

Founded in 2008 and led by Brad Rosen, CEO, Drync provides an iPad app and a commerce and discovery platform for wine drinkers with stories and descriptions about the wine lists to enhance the shopping experience and wine education.
In addition to the funding, Brian Carr (from Springpad), has been named COO of the company.
