Manicube Raises $5M in Series A Funding

-

Manicube, a New York City-based beauty technology company bringing manicures to offices in 15 minutes, raised $5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from existing investors including F Cubed.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the rollout of its services to top US cities, starting with Chicago this May, as well as to expand into other services and products. It will launch a direct-to-consumer on-demand offering to serve individuals and small groups in late 2014.

Led by co-founders Katina Mountanos and Liz Whitman, Manicube provides a platform to connect providers of nail services to time-starved customers at offices.
Operating since Summer 2012, the company now has over 90 corporate clients across both the New York and Boston markets, including Fortune 100 companies.
It has developed and offers consumer booking, payments, and logistics technology as well as a proprietary protocol that allows for full-service manicures in 15 minutes.
