Wish, a San Francisco, CA and Beijing, China-based mobile commerce platform, closed a $19m round of financing.
The round was led by GGV Capital and Formation8 with participation from existing investors including Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang. In conjunction with the funding, Hans Tung, managing director at GGV Capital joined the company’s board of directors.
Launched in early 2013 by Google and Yahoo alums Peter Szulczewski (CEO) and Danny Zhang, Wish is a mobile-only shopping app to discover, collect, and share products with friends. It uses matching technology to deliver a visually engaging, entertaining, and individualized shopping experience.
Available for iOS and Android, the app has more than 25 million users in 50 countries.
