6Sense, a San Francisco, CA-based predictive intelligence engine to improve sales and marketing for B2B companies, raised $12m in Series A financing.
The round was led by Battery Ventures and Venrock, with participation from Silicon Valley Bank. In conjunction with the funding, Roger Lee, general partner at Battery Ventures, and Brian Ascher, partner with Venrock, joined 6Sense’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the product and increase marketing.
Co-founded by Amanda Kahlow, CEO, and Viral Bajaria, 6Sense emerged from stealth and announced the availability of its solution that uses proprietary machine-learning algorithms and behavioral data to help companies identify potential customers and predict sales. Customers include NetApp, Cisco, CBS Interactive, Xactly, Blue Jeans, Pure Storage, and CSC, who currently use the predictions in all downstream sales and marketing systems, including ad retargeting, personalization, marketing automation, and CRM.
