ChargePoint, a Campbell, Calif.-based open electric vehicle charging network, raised $22.6m in funding.
Backers included Rho Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Braemar Energy Ventures, Siemens Venture Capital GmbH, Voyager Capital and BMW.
The company, which has now raised over $110m, intends to use the funds to expand its network to enter into new markets and develop new products.
Led by Pasquale Romano, CEO, ChargePoint is an open electric vehicle (EV) charging network, with more than 17,000 charging locations.
Its real-time network information including the availability of charging locations throughout the nation is available through the ChargePoint mobile app, online and via the navigation systems in EVs including the new BMW i3 and the Nissan LEAF.
The stations are independently owned.
