Igneous Systems, a Seattle, WA-based stealth mode startup that is reimagining the future of data center infrastructures, closed a $23.6m Series A financing round.
The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) with participation from existing investors Madrona Venture Group, Redpoint Ventures and Isilon Systems co-founder, Sujal Patel. As part of the funding, Ron Bernal, venture partner at NEA, joins the board of directors.
The company, which had previously raised $3m in seed round, intends to use the funds for product development and expansion of its engineering and leadership teams.
Founded by CEO Kiran Bhageshpur, Chief Architect Byron Rakitzis, and VP of Engineering Jeff Hughes, Igneous did not reavel the features of its solution. They just said that the company exists “to fundamentally reset expectations about how best to build, maintain and scale enterprise data center infrastructures“.
