The Founder Institute, a large entrepreneur training and startup launch program, has launched Expansive Ventures.
Based in Mountain View, Calif., the new firm will leverage the Founder Institute’s extensive global startup network to source deals and will make seed investments of $250k to $2m from both inside and outside the program’s graduate pool.
Led by partners Adeo Ressi (CEO of the Founder Institute and Founding Member of TheFunded.com) and Jon Soberg (former Managing Director at Blumberg Capital), Expansive Ventures is currently in beta and will begin accepting referrals for investment in the Summer of 2014.
The Founder Institute, which supports aspiring founders across the globe in building technology companies, is based in SV and has chapters across over 78 cities across 5 continents. It has helped launch over 1,100 companies, which have created over 10,000 new jobs.
