WholeWorldBand, a Dublin, Ireland-based music platform that combines audio and video to create a virtual recording studio, raised €5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by IIU and Balderton Capital.
Founded by music video director and 10cc member Kevin Godley and led by CEO John Holland, WholeWorldBand provides an iPad and iPhone app that allows users to record music and video in a virtual studio with anyone.
Everyone, from famous professionals to complete beginners, can work together to create great songs and visuals using the camera and microphone in their iOS device – and then share their Video Mixes directly to YouTube, Facebook, Soundcloud, and Twitter.
A digital rights management system enables artists to earn revenue for their work.
