5app, a London, UK-based mobile enterprise enabling company, closed its $5.1m seed funding round.
The round was led by Beckman Group.
The company intends to use the funds to bring its suite of new products for enterprises and communications services providers.
Led by Stuart Mason, Chief Executive Officer 5app provides a free and premium enterprise app store and DIY app builder service for businesses.
Its free service (a lite enterprise app store) allows companies to curate a list of apps from both iTunes and Google Play and gives employees a directory of all the publicly available mobile applications they need in one place.
For $4 per user/per month, customers can upgrade to the premium service where they can add their own custom apps, as well as apps from other distribution points, to the store. All apps are published to employees, with access managed via Active Directory Groups.
The company is testing its build service, which – for an additional $8 per user/per month – allows companies to mobilize business process by developing apps in-house in standard web code, which will then be turned into mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.
They can share these apps with selected team members for testing, before rolling out company wide.
