Replay Technologies, Inc., a Newark, CA, Dallas, TX, and Tel Aviv, Israel-based maker of free dimensional video broadcast technology, received an additional an investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC).
This followed Guggenheim Partners‘ US$9m investment last month.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to a note, however, a majority of the stock round capital came from Guggenheim, with the remainder being completed by SVIC and existing super angel investors in both the United States and Israel.
The company will use the funds to expand its reach across the North American sports and entertainment markets.
Launched in December 2011 by CEO Oren H. Yogev, Replay Technologies leverages proprietary freeD™ technology to create exclusive perspectives and angles for the televised and mobile device world. Its proprietary algorithm allows Replay to synchronize all images captured from an array of Ultra HD cameras and render the resulting 360-degree image in real time, creating a virtual three-dimensional model of the action for replay.
The company has partnered with the NBA during the 2014 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans and has ongoing strategic partnerships with Yankees Stadium in New York, Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, and AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to televise NFL, MLB, and NCAA football and basketball.
