Tastemade, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based digital media startup, raised $25m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Scripps Networks Interactive (NYSE: SNI) with participation from Liberty Media (NASDAQ: LMCA), Redpoint Ventures, Raine Ventures and Comcast Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to grow the business.
Led by Larry Fitzgibbon, co-founder,Ā Tastemade provides a food platform and community that enable “Tastemakers” to connect, collaborate and create video content.Ā The company’s app allows consumers to create their own episodes about places and dishes and share them with a global community of food lovers across mobile and social platforms.
Tastemade, which also announced plans to release its app for Android later this month, will continue to develop its platform and community as well as expand content partnerships with brands to reach consumers interested in exploring new ways to share food.
