Washio, a Santa Monica, CA-based on-demand laundry startup, raised $10.5m in in Series A funding.
The round was led by Canaan Partners, with participation from existing investors Pejman Mar Ventures, Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang, Sherpa Ventures, Ashton Kutcher‘s A Grade Investments, Troy Carter, and others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations nationwide (including New York, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Denver, Seattle).
Led by CEO Jordan Metzner, Washio provides dry cleaning & laundry services delivered to users’ home within 24 hours. Available on iOS, Android, and Web, it is currently present in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
