Canva, an Australian online graphic design platform, raised an additional $3.6m in funding.
Shasta Ventures and Founders Fund joined existing investors Matrix Partners, Blackbird Ventures and Square Peg Capital in this round.
Led by CEO Melanie Perkins, Canva allows users to create professional quality graphic designs via an online platform featuring a drag-and-drop design tool and a library of more than one million photographs, graphics and fonts. It can be used to design presentations, posters, blog content, cards, online marketing materials, invitations, flyers, etc.
The company is to launch its “Canva Button,” a new plug-in for third party websites which allows their users to create their own graphics. It will be rolled out over the coming weeks and companies interested in integrating the button can apply at http://about.canva.com/button.
