Curse Inc., a Huntsville, AL-based online gaming services company, raised $16m in funding.
The financing included a $10m Series B round and a $6m venture debt from Multiplier Capital.
The equity funding was led by new investor GGV Capital. In conjunction with it, Hans Tung, Managing Partner for GGV Capital, joined Curse’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop Curse Voice and other technology services.
Founded in 2006 and led by Hubert Thieblot, CEO, Curse consists of the more than 45 gaming websites attracting over 28 million unique visitors worldwide, and in excess of 1 billion page views per month (according to comScore data). It recently launched Curse Voice, a multi-player voice communications platform that allows gamers to connect and interact securely in PC games such as League of Legends.
