Issuu, a Palo Alto, CA-based digital publishing and content discovery platform, raised $10m in Series B funding.
Backers included the KDDI open innovation fund and current investor Sunstone Capital (Denmark).
The company, which has secured $21.5m in total, intends to use the funds to continue to expand its global base of publishers, develop innovative product features.
Led by Joe Hyrkin, CEO, Issuu digital publishing platform for readers to discover new content on tablets, desktops, laptops and smartphones – with no subscription fees or monthly charges and for publishers to find a worldwide audience. They can upload visually rich content, and gain insight on reader characteristics, preferences, and access to new business models.
The company has just released Clip, a new product that gives readers the ability to discover, clip and share any part of any of Issuu’s 17+ million publications to any social network. It currently delivers over 5 billion page views across 17 million magazines, catalogs and newspapers to over 80 million visitors each month. Publishers on Issuu include major news weeklies like Huffington magazine and retail brands, like JanSport, XO Group Inc.’s The Nest and The Bump, VICE, NASCAR, V Magazine, Bello, and Armani.
The company, which also has offices in Copenhagen, Denmark, is currently hiring.
