Yahoo Acquires Flurry

Yahoo_Logo-prvYahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) reached a definitive agreement to acquire Flurry, a provider of a platform for optimizing the mobile experience for developers, marketers and consumers.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

For Yahoo!, the acquisition reinforces its commitment to building and supporting mobile applications and monetization solutions. By joining Yahoo, Flurry will speed up the delivery of platforms for developers build better apps, reach the right users, and explore new revenue opportunities.

Founded in 2008 and led by Simon Khalaf, President and CEO, Flurry has the following numbers:
– 170,000 developers for Flurry Analytics
– app activity from 1.4 billion devices monthly
– 5.5 billion app sessions per day
– 7 apps per device on average
– 8,000 publishers
– working with mobile developers in 150 countries

Following the closing, the Flurry team will remain in their present locations (San Francisco, New York, London, Chicago and Mumbai) and its products will continue to operate and innovate with Yahoo’s support and investment.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
