Zynstra, a Bath, United Kingdom-based provider of cloud managed server appliances for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), raised $8.4m in Series B funding round.
The round was led by Octopus Investments, with participation from Richard Brennan, former EVP Global Marketing at Orange Group, Tom Vari, former CIO of Cable at Rogers Communications and Jon Craton, Zynstra’s Chairman and former founder and CEO of Cramer.
The company, which has raised over $12.5m to date, intends to use the funds to develop its channel, further invest in product innovation, and support entry into the North American market.
Led by CEO Nick East, Zynstra delivers cloud managed server appliances on customers’ premises to run local workloads and that connect to cloud services to enable SMEs to benefit from the security and performance of local IT combined with the economics of the cloud.
The company has already announced three products to supplement its hybrid cloud portfolio: O365 Connect, Education and SMB IT appliances.
