Alfresco Software, a Maidenhead, outside of London, UK-based enterprise content management provider, raised $45m in growth capital.
The round was led by Sageview Capital, with participation from existing investors Accel Partners, Mayfield Fund and SAP Ventures. With this investment, Ned Gilhuly, Founding Partner at Sageview Capital joined Alfresco’s Board of Directors. Jeff Klemens, Principal at Sageview Capital also joined as a Board Observer.
The company, which has now raised $65.4m, intends to use the funds to add sales people, invest in marketing, and expand development of its solution.
Led by CEO Doug Dennerline, Alfresco provides an open enterprise system to companies who require enterprise-grade, highly-compliant ECM to manage business-critical content.
The company now serves more than 1800 active customers in 212 countries, managing more than 7 billion documents for over 11 million users worldwide.
Customers include Amnesty International, Bristol City Council, Cisco, DAB Bank, Eurostar International, FOX, Harvard Business Publishing, KLM, LexisNexis, NASA, New York Philharmonic, Office Depot, Oxfam International, PGA TOUR, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Sony Entertainment.
