Zubie, a Charleston, SC-based connected car startup, raised $8m in funding.
Backers included Nokia Growth Partners and Magna International as well as existing investors Castrol innoVentures, Comporium and OpenAir Equity Partners. In conjunction with the funding, NGP Partner Paul Asel joined its Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to develop its car and driver management system which includes trip and vehicle analytics.
Led by Tim Kelly, CEO, Zubie provides drivers with a platform that enables remote services. Its AlwaysSmart™ proprietary technology extracts and analyzes data about driving behavior and engine health in order to provide safety and cost recommendations.
