Augmate, a New York City-based wearable tech startup, closed $2.8m in seed funding.
The round was led by Tim Draper with participation from UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund, Siemens Venture Capital, Simon Venture Group, Rothenberg Ventures, Excell Partners, Camp One Ventures, FP Angels and various angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the adoption of wearable applications in the workplace.
Founded in 2013 by Drew Austin, COO, Augmate specializes in the strategy, development, and deployment of enterprise applications for smart eyewear. It currently provides enterprises with developer tools through its device-agnostic SDK and an Insights platform for data visualization and is introducing InnoVision, its pilot enterprise consulting initiative for businesses to evaluate, validate, pilot, and scale wearable technology in real-world environments.
