Bridj, a Boston, MA-based smart transit system, raised $4m in seed funding.
Backers included NextView Ventures, Atlas Ventures, Suffolk Equity and Freshtracks Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the number of its vehicles.
Founder by CEO Matthew George, Bridj leverages big data and crowdsourcing to deploy its transportation network of direct, Wi-Fi equipped shuttles to match popular origin and destination pairings. As more users enter the system, the platform uses machine-learning algorithms to become smarter.
