Shippo, a San Francisco, CA-based comparison site and database for express delivery providers, raised $2m in seed funding.
The round was led by SoftTech VC with participation from Version One Ventures, 500 Startups, Joanne Wilson, Slow Ventures, Funders Club, Fabrice Grinda, and other angel investors.
Led by CEO Laura Behrens Wu, Shippo has built an API that enables shipping by virtually aggregating its entire shipping volume, getting discounts across all shipping providers and then passing them on to customers.
The company currently has more than 5,000 customers and partnerships with GoDaddy, Memebox, Shop Hers, Vinted, and the Mercari app.
Shippo graduated from 500 Startups incubator program in June, 2014 and now has eight employees and is continuing to hire.
