The Govtech Fund, a San Francisco, CA-based $23m venture capital fund dedicated to government technology startups, launched publicly.
Led by Ron Bouganim, Founder and Managing Partner, the vehicle focuses on govtech startups that build hardware and software tools used by government departments for daily internal operations and to deliver services to citizens. Examples include tools to manage projects and procurement, track infrastructure, regulate zoning, deliver health care, collect taxes and other fees, issue licenses and permits, convene citizens, manage water and sewer infrastructure, etc.
The fund has already made four investments to date:
– MindMixer, a community engagement platform that connects civic organizations with their constituents.
– SmartProcure, a government procurement intelligence platform.
– AmigoCloud, a next-generation mapping technology company, and
– SeamlessDocs, a provider of tools to convert any static document into a dynamic, smart and secure online form that can be completed and e-signed from any device.
