Instabridge, a Stockholm, Sweden-based operator of a crowdsourced network of WiFi hotspots, raised $1m in seed funding.
The round was led by Creandum with participation from GP Bullhound, Niall Murphy, Scott Bannister, and Felix Hagnö.
The company will use the funds to continue to grow operations and expand in new markets.
Led by Niklas Agevik, CEO and co-founder, Instabridge provides an Android app that allows people to use the free wifi shared by the community of Instabridge members, find free wifi at hotels, cafés and restaurants.
The company says that 20,000 connections are made to Instabridge-located hotspots each day and that the app is used in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil India, Spain, Netherlands, Canada and the U.S.
