Mailcloud, a London, UK-based universal communication service, raised $2.8m in seed funding.
Backers included Octopus Investments, Bessemer Venture Partners, Kima Ventures, Seedcamp London, Barry Smith, co-Founder of Skyscanner, Irish tech entrepreneur Ray Nolan, Frederic Court, Partner at Advent Ventures and Daniel Malhery founder of Deezer.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the service.
Founded in November 2013 by Malcolm Bell, CEO, Mailcloud provides a communication service that allows users to connect their existing email account, organizing their entire history of emails, files and content into folders sorted by person and enabling teams to communicate in real time with anyone, anywhere, across all their devices.
Mailcloud is a Microsoft Bizspark Plus company, hosting in Azure and using .Net. The service will go live in November on Android and iOS devices, written in Swift, Apple’s new programming language.
