Viyet Inc., a New York, NY-based e-commerce destination for curated pre-owned furniture, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
Backers included F Cubed, Metamorphic Ventures, angel investors and senior leaders in retail and technology.
The company plans to expand its consignment services to additional cities, improve tools for designers, hire new people and invest in operations, marketing, and technology.
Led by CEO Elizabeth Brown, Viyet operates an online platform for buying and selling pre-owned curated furniture, lighting, accessories, and art from design professionals and other design insiders. The company consigns inventory from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and sells nationally as well as overseas.
The merchandise sold via Viyet comes from top designers, brands and showrooms including Baker, Blu Dot, Campana Brothers, Campion Platt, Christian Liaigre, Dennis Miller, Desiron, Frank Gehry, George Smith, Herman Miller, Hickory Chair, Alexa Hampton, Holly Hunt, John Robshaw, Jonathan Adler, Kartell, Knoll, Ligne Roset, Maharam, Michael Taylor, Mies van der Rohe, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Noguchi, Philippe Starck, Thom Filicia, and Vitra, among others.
