Waterline Data Science, a Mountain View, Calif.-based big data software startup, raised $7m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Menlo Ventures.
The company will use the funds to expand operations.
Led by Alex Gorelik, founder and CEO, Waterline Data Science has just announced the launch of Waterline Data Inventory to enable data self-service on Hadoop and to allow users to find, understand, and help govern Hadoop data. Founded in December 2013, the company is also backed by Sigma West. It is one of twelve finalists in the Startup Showcase at the Strata + Hadoop World conference this week in New York City.
