Bloc, a San Francisco, CA-based online bootcamp for software development and design, raised a $6m Series A funding.
The round was led by Shasta Ventures.
The company, which has raised $8.5m in total, plans to use the funds to expand its job preparation and placement programs for graduates, develop new technical training courses, and expand their corporate training business.
Founded in 2012 by CEO Roshan Choxi and Dave Paola, Bloc is an online bootcamp that provides job-ready technical skills in software development and design. Courses are web-based, involve building real software projects, and include a dedicated mentor for each student. Since 2012, the compsny has expanded its course selection to include various web and mobile development courses including UX Design, Android and iOS development.
