Cavendish Kinetics Closes $7M Funding Round

Cavendish Kinetics, a San Jose CA-based provider of RF tuning solutions for mobile and wearable devices, closed a $7m funding round.

The round was co-led by Tallwood Venture Capital and Wellington Partners, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures and other existing investors. In addition to the funding, semiconductor and mobile/wireless industry veteran Gilles Delfassy joined Cavendish Kinetics’ board of directors.

The funds will be used to support the company’s customer design-wins, following the first commercial product launch earlier this year.

Led by Paul Dal Santo, CEO, Cavendish Kinetics provides high-performance RF MEMS tuning solutions for mobile and wearable devices in the global wireless industry. The nubia Z7 LTE smartphone for China Mobile uses its tuner to exceed China Mobile’s radio performance requirements for the 2GHz LTE frequency bands.

The company also has operation in Korea, Taiwan, China and The Netherlands.
