According to the company’s blog, Confluent, a Mountain View, Calif.-based real-time data startup, raised $6.9m in funding.
The round was led by Benchmark (Eric Vishria) with participation from LinkedIn and Data Collective.
The company intends to use the funds to develop the technology.
CO-founded by Neha Narkhede, Jun Rao, and CEO Jay Kreps, Confluent offers a real-time data platform built around Apache Kafka, an open source technology acting as a real-time, fault tolerant, scalable messaging system. It is adopted for use cases ranging from collecting user activity data, logs, application metrics, stock ticker data, and device instrumentation.
