Wanderu, a Boston, MA-based provider of a travel search engine platform for bus and train rides, raised $5.6m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Metamorphic Ventures, with participation from Alta Ventures, 500 Startups, Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners, and individual investors Craig Lentzsch (former CEO of Greyhound), John Balen (general partner at Canaan Partners) and Brad Feld (managing director at Foundry Group), among others.
The company intends to use the fubds to continue to expand throughout North America, prepare to launch native apps and roll-out new solutions to further improve the overall travel experience.
Led by Polina Raygorodskaya, CEO, Wanderu Wanderu operates a ground travel search engine for consumers discover travel options all over the U.S. and Canada. Through any device (mobile or desktop), users can search by any address, city or point of interest and discover the stations closest to them.
