Bustle, a New York City-based news site made for and by women, raised $15.5m in funding.
The round was led by General Catalyst Partners with participation from Time Warner Investments, Rothenberg Ventures, 500 Startups, and The Social+Capital Fund.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, expand and invest in its editorial team, and build out its sales and brand offerings. In conjunction with the funding, Neil Sequeira, Managing Director of General Catalyst Partners, will join Bustle’s board.
Led by Founder and CEO Bryan Goldberg and Managing Editor Kate Ward, Bustle is a startup news site made for and by women with writers and editors covering news, fashion, entertainment, etc.
Launched in 2013, Bustle has over 20 million readers.
