GameAnalytics Closes $5.5M Series A Funding Round

game analyticsGameAnalytics, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based analytics platform for game developers, closed its $5.5m Series A funding round.

Backers included existing investors Sunstone Capital, CrunchFund, Jimmy Maymann (CEO, Huffington Post) and René Rechmann (President, Maker Studio), new investor Beta Angels and the new management team.

The company has raised $8m to date, having previously raised $2.5m (read here).

Founded in 2012 by Danish serial entrepreneur Morten E. Wulff and led by newly appointed CEO Luke Aviet, VP of Strategic Partnerships Nick Roveta and Chief Commercial Officer Claus Moseholm, GameAnalytics provides developers with a free platform with predefined metrics, data exploration and user insights to access to detailed insight into their user base. They can then use this feedback and data to improve their games.

The platform is used by close to 14,000 registered game developers with their games reaching over 500 million unique players.

The company, which currently employs 27 people,  operates a data engineering team in Berlin and a commercial team in London.
