Lulutrip, Inc., a Silicon Valley and Shanghai-based online travel agency focusing on the Chinese outbound travel market, closed its Series A1 financing round.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
Backers included Lightspeed China Partners (LCP). In conjunction with the funding, Ron Cao, Managing Director of LCP, joined Lulutrip’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to upgrade customers’ experiences both via PC and mobile, as well as to enhance product portfolio in both breadth and depth.
Co-founded in 2007 by Jon Jiang, a former technology executive at VMware and EMC, and Faith Zhang, a travel industry veteran in US and China, Lulutrip is an online travel agency (OTA) that enables Chinese customers worldwide to browse, search and book destination-based travel products, including tours, activities and tickets for North America and Europe.
Lulutrip.com offers more than 3000 local tour products and 2000 local activity products, and its 24×7 non-stop destination-based customer service.
