Playdots Inc., a NYC-based developer of mobile games, raised $10m in Series A funding.
The round was co-led by Tencent and Greycroft Partners, with participation from Northzone, CrunchFund, Slow Ventures, Li Ruigang, Susan Lyne, and other investors and game industry executives.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the advancement of its franchise.
Led by co-founder and CEO Paul Murphy and CCO Patrick Moberg, Dots has developed Dots: A Game About Connecting, and TwoDots, which are available as free downloads for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. They have an install base of over 45 million players around the world.
