SendGrid, a Boulder, Colorado-based provider of an email delivery platform, closed a just over $20M in a Series C funding round.
The round included new investor Bain Capital Ventures as well as existing backers Bessemer Venture Partners and Foundry Group.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the functionality of its platform and increase its channels to market.
Founded in 2009 as part of TechStars and led by Sameer Dholakia, recently appointed CEO, SendGrid provides an email delivery platform that allows users to increase email deliverability, to access actionable insight and scale to meet any volume of email.
The platform is used by 180,000 web application companies and developers, including Uber, FourSquare, Pinterest, Airbnb, Twilio, Spotify and Pandora.
The company is also backed by Highway 12 Ventures, Bullet Time Ventures, SoftTech VC, 500 Startups and several individual investors such as Matt Mullenweg and Scott Petry.
