Eccrine Systems, Inc., a Cincinnati, OH-based advanced sweat sensor company, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
Backers included CincyTech Fund III, management, and other sources within the CincyTech local, regional and national investor community.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to advance its solution.
Formed in late 2013 by Dr. Jason Heikenfeld, and Robert Beech, executive chairman, Eccrine is developing disposable electronic patch systems based on research and intellectual property originated from the University of Cincinnati and Air Force Research Labs at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
The company seeks exclusive relationships with downstream partners across multiple market segments.
