Ele.me Raises $350M in Series E Funding

Ele.me, a Shanghai, China-based food delivery service, raised $350m in Series E funding.

Backers included CITIC, Tencent, JD.com, Dianping.com, and Sequoia Capital.

Founded in September 2008 by Xuhao Zhang, Ele.me.com is an online platform that offers customer-to-customer meal ordering services. It also works as a communication platform between users and restaurants.

The service currently serves 250 cities with 200,000 restaurants and 20 million users.
