Fetch Robotics, a San Jose, CA-based startup that is building robots for the logistics industry, raised $3m in Series A financing.
Backers included O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures (OATV) and Shasta Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to bring its firts robots to market.
Founded in 2014 and led by newly named CEO Melonee Wise, Fetch Robotics is advancing robots (utilizing and building upon ROS, the open source robot operating system) which will provide solutions for the logistics and light industrial markets, as well as for other human-robot collaboration opportunities.
The first robots will be introduced in second quarter of 2015.
