Konekt, a Chicago, IL-based toolkit maker for internet of things device management and network connectivity, raised $1.3m in funding.
Backers included NextView Ventures; Mucker Capital; Tyler Willis Syndicate including Maiden Lane; Chris Muhr, SVP, EMEA and Founder, Groupon; and, Rajen Ruparell, Co-Founder, Groupon International + Non Executive Advisor, Groupon.
Led by co-founders Ben Forgan, CEO, and Pat Wilbur, Ph.D., CTO, Konekt provides a toolkit for makers, OEMs and systems integrators to build connected devices that work everywhere. It is comprised of three integrated parts, including:
– The Konekt Global SIM card that provides worldwide internet access;
– The Konekt Cloud which routes and stores all data on the Konekt network; and,
– The Konekt Management Portal, which enables management (i.e., billing, activation, etc.) of all devices.
