Notey, a San Francisco and Hong Kong-based platform for users to find blogs, raised $1.6m in seed funding.
Backers included Steve Kirsch, founder of Infoseek, OneID and CoinTrust; Hugo Barra, vice president of international at Xiaomi; and Ryan Holmes, CEO and founder of Hootsuite.
Co-Founded by couple Catherine Tan and Kevin Lepsoe, Notey is a platform for users to find and discover the best blogs on over 500,000 topics. According to the founders, What differentiates Notey from RSS readers and blog directories is that they’re focused on content and that the site is structured based on topics, rather than creating a list of bloggers.
It is available via Web, on iOS and soon on Android.
