Nvbots, a Boston, MA-based creator of a fully-automated 3D printer, secured $2m in seed funding.
Backers included domestic and international investors. In conjunction with the funding, Dr. Michael Foley, manufacturing expert, MIT faculty member and former CEO of Reflexite (sold to Orafol), will be joining the board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds for business development and NVPro production efforts.
Led by COO Chris Haid and CEO AJ Perez, Nvbots offers the NVPro 3D printer with automated part removal which is combined with a cloud-based interface to run from any device. The company also provides educational modules designed for Common Core Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
