Distil Networks, Inc., an Arlington, Virginia-based provider of a bot detection and mitigation platform, recently received a $3m credit facility from Square 1 Bank.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand to the West Coast as well as to conduct future growth initiatives.
Founded in 2011 by chief executive officer Rami Essaid, Distil Networks provides tools to block bots, or automated computer programs, which are harmful to websites and personal and enterprise computer systems. To date, the company has blocked over 30 billion bad bots and counting, effectively mitigating against duplicate content, web scraping, competitive data mining, account hijacking, form spam and click fraud.
Distil is backed by Foundry Group, Techstars’ Bullet Time Ventures, ff Venture Capital, IDEA Fund Partners and Militello Capital.
