FiftyThree, a NYC- and Seattle, WA-based maker of mobile tools for creation, raised $30m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Dayna Grayson of New Enterprise Associates (NEA) with participation from existing investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand into enterprise and education.
Founded in 2011 by Georg Petschnigg, Andrew Allen, Jon Harris, and Julian Walker, FiftyThree provides a product suite including the iPad app Paper (13M+ downloads), the Bluetooth stylus Pencil and its accompanying SDK, and Mix (over 1M users), an online service that lets people create together.
The company plans to release a new kit of tools in Paper called Think Kit in April, which leverages an Intention Engine™ that speeds up the creation of diagrams, charts, and presentation sketches.
FiftyThree has a current team of 53 employees.
