hopOn, a San Francisco, CA-based social travel booking service, publicly launched and closed a $750k seed round of funding.
The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA).
Led by Jade Van Doren, chief executive officer, and Doug Morgan, chief technology officer, hopOn allows users to book flights from 400+ airlines, choose from 170,000+ hotels, and share travel expenses. The platform allows them to create a triplist by saving flights, hotels, and shared expenses, then share with their friends or colleagues, who get their own copy of the triplist to edit. Everyone can book their flight, hotel and/or pay for group travel expenses.
Features include built-in chat, the ability to see the flight information and booking status of everyone on the trip, and social seat selection – meaning users can select seats next to their friends/colleagues that are on the same trip.
