Oslo, Norway-based browser company Opera Software (OTCMKTS:OPESF) has acquired SurfEasy, a Toronto, Canada-based online privacy company.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Following the acquisition, the two companies will venture into joint products, expanding on Opera’s product presence.
Led by Chris Houston, founder and CEO, SurfEasy provides a virtual private network (VPN) solution for protecting customers’ online privacy and security on smartphones, tablets and computers.
Led by Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software develops and sells web browsers for the desktop, device, and mobile markets worldwide. It also operates a mobile advertising platform that enables publishers to monetize their content allowing brands to reach a global audience of more than 800 million consumers.
