According to a filing with the S.E.C. (read here), venture capital firm Social+Capital Partnership is raising a $150m opportunity fund.
It is called Social Capital Partnership Opportunities Fund.
The opportunity fund usually focuses on complementing core funds and allows the manager to continue to invest in established and successful companies and respond to attractive opportunities as the market continues to evolve.
The firm, led by technologist and venture capitalists Chamath Palihapitiya, recently started raising its third fund with an ambitious target: $450m (read here).
Based in Palo Alto, California, it leverages venture capital “as a force to create value and change on a global scale“.
